Coeur D'Alene Wedding

We went to Idaho...not the potato kind of Idaho...

At 4:30 am on Wednesday morning, I left my house to catch a 6:30 flight from CAK. Dad, Mom, Aunt Terri and I survived a 24 hour day. 13 of those hours were travel hours. The time change was a killer! So after a long day in airports and on airplanes, we arrived in Coeur D'Alene .

We stayed at the Coeur D'Alene Resort. Aside from a small snafu (about us staying in the crappiest room in the hotel) the resport was unbelieveable. After our room upgrade, we had the most incredible view of Lake Coeur D'Alene. The lake is about 25 miles long, and for the most part generally pretty narrow.

Once we got to the resort, our main form of transportation was boats. Pontoon boats, speed boats, ferry boats, jet skiis...you name it, we rode it! :) Nicole (the bride) has an aunt and uncle who have a house on the lake. They were very generous and taxied us all over the lake. We mostly went from the resort to Aunt Jan and Uncle Donny's. We took a ferry from the resort to the golf course (for the wedding).

Our five days was full of fun. Everything from lying on a raft in the lake (with LOTS of cousins), to jet skiing for 2 hours, to biking 15 miles down a mountain in Montana. The scenery was nothing like I've ever seen. The intensity and beauty of the water was breathtaking. The hugeness of the mountains was also impressive (even though they weren't snow capped, they were still really pretty!). The Hiawatha Rail Trail was a bit treacherous but had unbelievable scenes. We rode through a tunnel, 1.7 miles long, pitch dark, where we could only see about 3 feet in front of us thanks to the mini flashlight on our "comfort bikes". That was where the trail began. From there we pedaled through about 5-6 more tunnels and over 3-4 tressels which were hundreds of feet in the air.

Despite all of this excitement and fun during the days which surrounded the wedding. The best part of the entire trip was Saturday. The Day. The wedding was the most beautiful wedding that I've ever attended. Both the ceremony and the reception were outside. The weather was perfect. 90 and sunny (minus humidity). The golf course at Coeur D'Alene is apparently one of the greatest around. Nicole and Adam were married with the lake and the floating green in the background. The reception was impressive! The spread of food was delectable. I was silly not to take a picture of that (but I was too busy filling my plate). The music, the food, the people, the dancing. We had a wonderful time.

Enough of me blabbing. The pictures can tell more of the story than I can.

Lastly, a huge CONGRATS to Nicole and Adam. Thank you for including us in your special day. I feel so lucky to have been there to witness such a beautiful event. I'm certain that everyone in attendance had a wonderful time! Wishing you all the happiness in the years to come!
