We invested in bikes! Ever since we moved to Erie, we've been saying that we need to buy bikes. We finally did and we are SO excited! Thanks, John Adam's Cycling and Fitness.
We live about 1.5 miles from Presque Isle State Park which has a 13 mile trail for biking and running. There are beaches, and picnic spots, and landmarks, an amusement park, a water park, Lake Erie...Sara's.
Nathan will often go run around the peninsula. We frequently drive visitors there to see the water. We've played pickup games of sand volleyball (let's be honest, I don't play) and have grilled out on the beach with friends.
On Thursday (yes, the day that was 80 degrees and sunny) we rode our brand new bikes, with Amelia hitched to the back of Daddy's, down to Presque Isle State Park. We DID NOT ride around the bike trail, but we DID stop at Sara's for some greasy diner food and yummy, yummy ice cream.
Amelia was GREAT in her new bike trailer. (This was a very generous gift from her Grandma and Grandpa Monaco. Thank you!) She wore her helmet like a big girl and just enjoyed the view! At home we kept trying to put her helmet on to get her used to it. Every time we did she got mad and "grumped" until we took it off. But, when it came time to go for a ride, she wore the helmet without putting up any sort of a fight!
Amelia had her first Sara's ice cream cone, which tastes like a dreamsicle. I'm not kidding, life is so much more fun with a little one.
I had to share the pictures. This was just good, wholesome fun. It was a day that we all needed. Looking forward to more spring weather (unlike the snow that we got today).
