Down the shore

Well, I spent one more day on the Jersey shore before getting back into teacher life in Ohio.
Long Beach really makes you feel like you're on vacation with little shops and restaurants on a boardwalk. It's MUCH cleaner than Belmar (a beach I frequented last year). Mostly we sat on the beach and had good chats with friends. We stopped at Stewart's for lunch, nothing like a root beer float on a hot day! :)

The excitement of the day was centered around a giant fin. Suddenly, people were darting out of the ocean screaming "SHARK!". Classic. Looking into the water, occasionally a fin would surface and disappear again. The lifeguard jumped into a little boat and paddled away to check out the scene. Almost everyone on the beach gathered to watch the action. The excitement subsided with the lifeguard announced that it was only a fish...bummer. The story would have been a lot better with a different ending...

Sitting in the sun. I'm pretty sure I could do that for a living. :)

After working 6 weeks in the Caribbean, I can tell you for a fact that sitting in the sun for a profession is wonderful.

Love the way "down the shore" sounds so natural coming from you!
Did you have lobster?! :)
