Snowy Day

Our day started when Erin, Roxie and I sat on my bed for about 45 minutes looking out the window at the snow. We watched the dog across the street (Irish Setter) as she jumped through the mounds in her front yard. Soon thereafter, the two little girls who live across the street came out all bundled up to play! Ahhh...to be a kid again. Erin and I considered going over to ask if we could join.

After sitting around for awhile, we decided it was time to hit the driveway and sidewalks with the shovels. We bundled up (unnecessary...you get really hot when you shovel). We shoveled our butts off and then decided to play. (Beth, AJ, and Sammi came over to play too). We belly flopped in the undisturbed snow. Beth called it a reverse snow angel. Erin buried me in the snow. Sammi attacked my head. Thank goodness for Uncle Doug who saved the day by coming to plow the driveway.

After we played outside for a few hours, we came inside to play some more. Beth made us a mean lunch of tomato soup and grilled cheese. Then we played Super Marion Bros. on the Wii for about 3 hours. (I gave up halfway to do some blogging and some homework).

Eventually we ordered a pizza for dinner. AJ had an awkward exchange with the pizza guy.

Pizza Guy: "Did anyone ever tell you that you look like Ralphie from the Christmas Story?"
AJ (wise come back): "Did anyone ever tell you that you look like the guy from Seinfeld?" (George)
Pizza Guy: "I always wondered what you looked like when you grew up."

After dinner we put in The Office - Season 5. I'm not sad about being snowed in. I'm in bed now, reading a book, for fun. Imagine that. Turns out that snow days on the weekend are a bit more fun than snow days during the week. If school is called off, all my friends still have to work. I love spending the day with friends! The tuckered out doggies pretty much show how the people felt all day long. Thankful for friends and for a relaxing day.
