Happy Half Birthday Amelia! :)

Time flies, doesn't it?!

Amelia is six months old today.  It's funny how much things change in six months.  It's amazing how much SHE'S changed in six months.

SIX MONTHS!

First graders like to talk "birthdays".  Anytime we say the name of a month, their hands shoot up so they can  share their big day (regardless of whether or not it is related to the aforementioned month...).  Today during our daily birthday discussion, I shared that it is Amelia's "half birthday".  They could hardly believe that she isn't even 1 yet.  I can hardly believe that she's halfway there!

Time is flying and Amelia is changing so quickly!  In a lot of ways this is devastating. I'm hanging on each moment, trying to savor it so that I can remember it forever.  On the other hand, it is so much FUN to watch her learn and grow. It seems like she's surprising us with something new each day.  Every little change  is both painfully bitter and so so sweet.

Today after school I had lesson plans to write, laundry to do, etc., etc., etc. Instead I (gracefully) pushed all that aside and took time to celebrate with my darling 6 month old.  We played and played and played (and took picture, after picture, after picture)!

Any mother can relate to the overwhelming love that I feel for this little girl.  A mother's love goes unmatched.  I'm so happy to have joined the ranks of motherhood.  It fits me just right.

"Cause today is the day, the day I have always dreamed of, forever.  I'm gonna look in the camera and tell my mama I love her."  Nelly
